Child-focused dance studio in the Junction neighbourhood of Toronto. Brand new studio! Offering dance from ages 2.5 to teens. Some adult classes and unique workshops. Occupational Therapists (OTs) who work with the host studio to offer inclusive classes for dancers of all abilities. We aim to foster inclusive studio communities, providing families and dancers with the opportunity to belong! Our OTs provide training for volunteers to become 1:1 Dance Buddies for our dancers (or as needed). Founded by Gracie Robbin and Yvonne Nichols to create an original theatre piece through weekly workshops with people who have acquired brain injuries. It was made possible from funding through a Community Arts Grant from the Toronto Arts Council and collaboration with members and staff at CHIRS (Community Head Injury Resource Services) www.chirs.com
Performance was presented on February 1st, 2019 and at Dancemakers on Saturday, February 29th, 2019. Stay tuned for the next performance in 2022.
